A Master Business Coach Who Has Spent a Lifetime Solving Problems
For four decades, I've helped business owners plan, grow, buy, sell, and start businesses. Today, as a Master Business Coach and the 2026 PBCA Business Coach of the Year, I help owners get unstuck, resolve conflict, and build companies worth being proud of.
Four Decades of Helping Business Owners Succeed
I've spent my whole life working with people and helping them solve problems. My career started in the insurance industry, where I built a practice in financial planning, estate planning, and business planning.
Over the years, that work grew into something bigger. I helped owners buy businesses, sell businesses, and start new ones. I sat across the table from people at the most important moments of their working lives, and I learned what separates the businesses that thrive from the ones that close their doors.
Eventually I decided to take all of that experience and put it to work where it matters most: coaching business owners directly. Today I coach companies of every size, from new businesses finding their footing to a manufacturer on track to reach nearly $50 million in revenue.
Helping people succeed is one of the most gratifying things you can do. I don't plan to ever stop.
Why I Named It Inspired Business
I was coaching long before I formed Inspired Business. As my practice grew, it was time to make it official, and I struggled to find a name that captured what I do.
The legal secretary helping me set up the company is the one who said it. She told me that I inspire people. I inspire them to be better, and I inspire them not to quit. The name stuck because it's exactly what I want to do for every business owner I work with.
“You inspire people to be better. You inspire them not to quit.”

CREDENTIALS
Credentials That Are Earned, Not Bought
Anyone can call themselves a business coach. I'm proud to be part of an organization that makes you prove it.
2026 PBCA Business Coach of the Year
Voted Business Coach of the Year by the Professional Business Coaches Alliance, an organization of top business coaches across North America.
Master Business Coach
Earned through thousands of hours of successful coaching, an intensive course, and an exam that took hours to complete. It was the toughest course I've ever taken.
PBCA Certified Coach
The PBCA isn't a franchise you can buy into. Coaches are interviewed, selected, trained, and required to keep learning to maintain their certification.
About the Professional Business Coaches Alliance
The PBCA is made up of experienced professionals: retired admirals and generals, and business leaders who have spent 30 or 40 years building companies. Membership isn't something you can purchase. Every coach goes through a selection process, completes certification training, and keeps growing through ongoing education and meetings. The learning never stops, and that's exactly how it should be.
I Coach With Empathy First, Then the Right Questions
The most important quality a business coach can have is empathy. Telling an owner what they need to do is the last thing they want to hear. I listen first, then ask the questions that help them find the answer for themselves.
Business owners are often lonely. They work six days a week, manage everything, and the last thing they want to do is unload it all at the dinner table. More than one spouse has thanked me because their husband or wife comes home lighter after our time together.
I'm also known for handling conflict. When partners are at odds, other coaches call me in. I never choose sides. There's no right and no wrong, just a problem that needs to be solved.
A Great Coach Knows Who to Call
One coach can't do everything. When a challenge falls outside my expertise, I bring in trusted specialists from my network, including experts in technology, accounting, business structure, and HR.
Knowing exactly who to call only comes with four decades of experience, and it means you get the right help every time.
I've Failed More Than Most, and Learned Every Time
My father was part of the World War II generation, and he taught us never to quit. I keep Winston Churchill's words on my desk as a daily reminder: never, never, never give up.
I've made a thousand more mistakes than most of the people I coach, and I learned something from every one of them. When clients ask how I know what I know, the honest answer is that I've failed a lot and kept going. If you're afraid to fail, it's hard to succeed. When you do succeed, look back at what your failures taught you along the way.
It's Better to Give Than to Receive
I believe we're all here to help someone else along the way. If you're struggling, go help somebody. Here's where I give my time.
City of Fernandina Beach Board of Adjustment
I serve as a volunteer on this board, hearing cases and helping resolve issues for my community. It's unpaid, and it's one of the ways I give back to the city I call home.
The Green Foundation
For 10 years, I've served on the board of this nonprofit, helping raise money for schools and orphanages in Africa.
